We are very proud to say that we have, for two years running been named in the Good Beer Guide.
And for the first time in the pub's history, we won the CAMRA branch pub of the year award for 2025...

...as well as the best Pub Restaurant/Café in the Weald of Kent Awards 2025.

MONDAY GAMES NIGHT at 7.30pm

Monday evenings we have Chess and Backgammon club for all levels. learn or just play.

TUESDAY QUIZ NIGHTS at 8pm

1st Tuesday of the month is Quiz Night - £10 per table of up to 4.

3rd Tuesday of the month is Music Bingo - £10 per table of up to 6.

SUNDAY IS KILLER NIGHT at 7pm

Knockout pool every Sunday.

SEASONAL EVENTS

Aside from our quarterly Tasting Menu nights from our superb chef Jim Miles...we also hold regular celebratory special events such as Family Fun Days, Halloween Kids Trail, Easter Egg Hunts and Christmas Sing-a-longs. These are ad-hoc so keep an eye on the calendar of events to see what's coming soon!

These have been an regular feature of The George calendar for 20 years, promoting local ales and bands. With an eclectic mix of music for all tastes, great food and our CAMRA award winning beers, these fun packed weekends are very popular highlights of our year.

Fish & Chips every Friday 3.00 - 6.00pm

We run a special Fish & Chips offer every week - for eat-in or takeaway. You can book in here.

About Our Café

From Monday to Friday, The George is open as a café from 10am to 12pm, serving delicious homemade cakes from our village bakers Avril and Barbara. The café officcially closes as the restaurant opens, but hot drinks and cake remain available throughout the day.

Our excellent free high-speed wi-fi means The George is the perfect place for WFH (from the pub!), reading the online news, catching up on social media or just losing yourself down the rabbit hole which is surfing the net.

We're serving the village as a place to meet friends, make new ones, or a venue to host coffee mornings for the many groups in the community. Currently we have the Knit & Natter on Mondays and Chatty Café on Tuesdays. Both are from 10am to 12pm, so why not come along and join in the fun! We have a loyalty card too, so after every 6 cups you're welcome to have one on us.
